Beauty Secrets Everyone Should Know

Hello, Beautiful!

When I hear the word secret, the things that come to mind are friends and their dirty little secrets. I mean there has to be someone in this big world that knows that stupid thing you did with you know who long ago. Right? Thank heavens, I thought it was just me :) What if we couldn't trust that person? What if that person decided to spill the beans? How would I handle it? What would I do? The horror!!

Well, thankfully I am at the stage in my life where I just don't care who knows what anymore. I can tell you it's a very liberating feeling. So since we are on the subject of secrets I wanted to share some secrets that I have found around the net pertaining to beauty and makeup. Some of these are tricks of the trade and some just make you go aha!

BEAUTY SECRETS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW

Skin

Adding that milk of magnesia works best on normal, oily, and combination skin and helps minimize pores, evens out skin tone, and keeps foundation from oxidizing and changing color. I know during the summer months I am going to be doing this for sure.

Lashes

Bring lashes out with gel eyeliner and a lash curler, First, take the lash curler and paint the liner on the sponge area of the lash curler. Wait about 10 to 15 seconds to let the liner dry slightly. Then, place the curler as close to the lash line as possible, hold for a few seconds, and release. After, apply a few coats of clear mascara to finish the look. It creates the perfect full lash and defined lash line but the look is a bit more natural and edgy. This sounds so nice for the days when you want a little something, but don't wanna go all the way.

Lips

Trace the outer edge of the top lip with a highlighter, concentrating the product at the Cupid’s bow and fading out towards the outer edges, a pearled cream highlighter is perfect for creating this effect. I personally do this often as my lips are disappearing as I get older,

Brows

Dust a bit of translucent powder using a small brush over your brows before setting them with a tinted brow gel, it immediately boosts the brow hairs and amplifies your natural brow shape even if you have fine or thin brows. Then just fill in any sparse areas with a pencil to get the definition you need. I know my powders always enhance my facial hair, so this makes sense to me.

Do you have any secrets to tell? Do share, I promise I won't will tell.

Manomai Around the Clock Facial Serum

Hello, Beautiful!

If you follow me anywhere you will know that I got a new camera and I am in love! It does amazing things, I will share all the details about it on interwebschic.com.

Now, I have another item I am in love with and it also does amazing things!
I am officially addicted to Serums! I love them and the benefits are so much greater then that of a normal moisturizer. The are able to go deeper and work harder to moisturize and deal with imperfections we are all trying to hard to get rid of, fine lines, large pores, scares and wrinkles. I love applying a good serum especially at night, because that's when my skin does it most powerful work to rejuvenate itself. Now there are a whole boatload of serums out there in this great big world, but there is only one that is tailor made just for you!

How can this be? One word Manomai. Try saying that three times fast!

Manomai have created an innovative range of moisturizing face creams exclusively formulated to work in harmony with your blood group. Your skin is the largest organ in the body, providing a natural barrier against the outside world. Manomai moisturizers contain only the highest-quality active ingredients, specifically blended to gently boost your skin’s defences and restore your natural genetic rhythm. Manomai bring an entirely new approach to natural skincare.

This serum is created based on the skin type of each blood group

Now, when the company first approached me to review this product I will admit I was a bit freaked out, I mean they wanted to know my blood type?! If I hadn't gone through issues with my last pregnancy I would not have known how to answer lol!

I received the product about a week ago, now I do like to review all my products at least two weeks before I give a review, but this couldn't wait! This stuff is a miracle in a jar.
My kids noticed it first after two days and said my skin looked better, they know I have been battling skin issues for a while, then my husband said something, then the ultimate test! My sister mentioned my skin while we were face timing and she remarked how she noticed my skin looked brighter and more soft.

I have large pores you can fit a family and their mini van inside one pore! I said you guys are all nuts, what ever drugs your taking I want some too! So I went to the mirror and I am not going to claim they were gone, but you had to look for them now! They weren't at prominent as they used to be. I also read some of the facts that they have on the website about blood types and our bodies and they make a lot of sense.

The creator of the serum did not want to put anything harmful on her skin, not being able to find anything to suit her need, she made it herself!

The product looks like a milky liquid and applies watery. I apply this in a thin layer over my face and neck and allow my skin to absorb it day and night. There is practically no scent to this product which I love. the only thing I have a problem with is the dispenser.
I don't know if its the plastic or what, but it doesn't dispense the pea sized amount you are supposed to apply, so I just open it up like a jar and get what I need out.

The packaging itself is adorable and feels very luxurious with the frosted glass in its cute egg shape. When I received my package It was so beautiful I didn't want to open it, I tried to salvage the beautiful bow, but that never happens hehe :)

You really do feel the quality and the passion of the company behind this product.
This serum has become a daily staple in my routine in the short time I have owned it.

I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a healthy alternative to skin care.

You can visit the Manomai website http://www.manomai.com/ and hear for yourself all the ways it can benefit your skin in a way that is tailor made to you.

Friday

Friday Flakes, Fab and Fails

I am going to share with you three products that fall into three categories for me Flake, Fab and Fail. I do my best to love all my products, but sometimes, geez, they just don't work out. And here we are.

Hello, Beautiful!

Well it's Friday again, I can't believe how fast this week has gone by. Before we begin I just want to say thanks to everyone who has subscribed, liked, commented and followed this week. I also have a series on my other blog that talks about things that ticked me off this week,so if you want to check that out click http://www.interwebschic.com/2014/03/things-that-ticked-me-off-this-past-week.html now on to.

Friday Flakes, Fab and Fails

I am going to share with you three products that fall into three categories for me Flake, Fab and Fail.
I do my best to love all my products, but sometimes, geez, they just don't work out. And here we are.

Flake

ELF TINTED MOISTURIZER SPF 20

I saw it and thought I would love it, but I didn't. I will say a little goes a long way with this, because it wouldn't go into my skin and it ended up looking streaky and patchy.

Fab

SEPHORA WATER PROOF JUMBO EYE PENCIL 12HR WEAR

This lil or Jumbo pencil has saved many eye shadows from the trash. I apply this to my lid and it gives life to any shade I apply to it. it give a nice white pearled base. I have a warning though. Don't blend it out with a swipe, I found that patting is best and sharpen before use, when it gets dry it can get patchy, but other than that it is a great base for the eyes or a inner eye brightener.

Fail

MERLOT GRAPE SEED EYE CREAM

As a kid, have you ever put glue all over your hand and peeled it off? Well, that is exactly what this looks like and feels like. Don't get me wrong I am no expert on eye creams, but aren't they supposed to moisturize the eye area? For me this was the exact opposite. I will say that it does reduce puffiness because it makes my under eye area so tight and dry that it enhances my fine lines and wrinkles in my eye area. I really wanted to like this, I have heard good things about it, but for me it just didn't.

Sunday

Urban Decay SmashBox MC2 Palette Matte Comparison

Hello, beautiful!

Today was a lazy Sunday, I didn't sleep until 7am and I was just in a blah mood, so into the shower I went.
The shower felt great and got me in a good mood, thinking about what to film and which product I wanted to blog about today.

I dried and flat ironed my hair, then it was makeup time and let me tell you, no matter how I tired I couldn't get a look going. I used the Naked Basics Palette and the Smashbox Master Class Palette, now if you can't get a look out of those two palettes combined, then something is wrong! So I literally tried three times, meaning taking it off and trying again! So I finally gave up and said not tonight.

Heart broken I began to pack my toys away and was trying to figure out why my shadows wouldn't blend or stay put on my eyes, I noticed that the Naked Basics Palette and the SmashBox MC2 Palette have the same colors and I wanted to compare the two palettes against each other.

As you can see they are very much alike besides the second color from the left.
With a touch test they both feel nice, but Naked Basics feels velvety but dryer.

They are all matte shades and as you can see The Naked basics is way more pigmented.
The MC2 Palette Blends a lot easier.

The MC2 Palette has 28 shadows, 6 blush bronzers and 2 highlighters, as well as four gel liners.

Naked basics has 6 shadows total, one of which is a shimmer used for a brow highlight.

I love both of these Palettes, but for some reason NB is very hard for me to work with in regards to blending. I find myself reaching for the SBMC2 Palette more.

Friday

Friday Flakes, Fab & Fails

It's FRIDAY!! Don't you just love Friday's? I love them, they are so liberating :)

Anyhoo, meanwhile back on the ranch...

I am going to share with you three products that fall into three categories for me Flake, Fab and Fail.
I do my best to love all my products, but sometimes, geez, they just don't work out. And here we are.

FLAKES

BH COSMETICS 28 COLOR NEUTRAL PALETTE.

I tried so hard to Love this Palette, but I just can't. It's dry and chalky and the colors are barely there. For some reason BH Cosmetics arent what they used to be. A fellow Blogger Cella Paz Mentioned this and not that I didn't trust her, but I though it was maybe just a dud, alas this wasn't the case.

FAB

MAKE UP FOR EVER MASCARA: SMOKY EXTRAVAGANT

WOW, is the only word that comes to mind when I use this mascara. I got this as my birthday freebie from Sephora and I am in love!  I will have to buy the full size when I am through with this deluxe sample size. It coats every lash and thickens them up. The brush is shaped like a tear drop and is able to coat those inner eye lashes that are hard to get with another mascara. It doesn't get dry or make your lashes feel brittle.I do strongly suggest you do the bottom lashes first, because it take a min to dry, but once it does it's amazing.

FAILS

BH COSMETICS SAN FRANCISCO PALETTE

I am so disappointed in this palette. The colors are beautiful, but they don't show up when applied and the chalkiness is evil! The blushes apply very spotty and you have to layer them to see any color. Even though this was only 5 bucks it is still a dud. The packaging is adorable, so it has become a decor item rather then a usable item on my vanity.

So there you have it. Friday Flakes, Fab & Fails, until next week :)

Thursday

Summer Hair Inspiration

Hello, Beautiful!

And welcome to Thursday, Thursday. I cannot believe how the weeks are just flying by and spring is coming! I'm so happy that the winter is coming to a close :)

I really have no idea what I am going to talk to you about today, so I am just going to ramble,
if you don't mind.

I have been trying to grow out my hair, its working and no, I am not putting anything on it. I am however cutting it at the nape of my neck every friday. This is something my Grandmother did for us all the time and I dont know why, but it works. I have also been using thickening shampoos because my hair is kinda on the thin side so I do have to tease it to get some volume in it.

This is the style I would love to have for the summer or something close to it haha :)

Wednesday

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Hello my beauties!

Wow, this has been a busy week for me with filming and sampling products I have been literally running in circles. Today I wanted to talk to you about something that has been weighing heavy on my heart. This subject touches all of of at one point or another and I wanted to share my views on this matter.

Self confidence or self esteem is something I have been thinking about a lot. I am not a big hater, but I do hate, hate. I hate when people make each other feel bad or even even worse worthless.

To me everyone is beautiful in their own way, we all have our own special qualities that make us unique, one of a kind. And this is something we should celebrate not discriminate.

But more importantly I want to talk to the girl that feels she isn't Pretty, the girl who feels she isn't Smart, the girl who feels she isn't funny or cute, or skinny, or tall, or popular, or anything else she feels is wrong with herself. Yes you! And yes me too!

You are special there is only one of you among a bagillion, gagillion people in this great big world! And that's pretty special. Its okay for you to feel insecure at times, we all do at some point and this is okay. If you didn't feel insecure then something would be wrong.

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Marilyn Monroe one of Hollywood's greatest had insecurities about her abilities to perform.
Everyone at some pint her her sexy renditions of Santa baby and happy birthday to J.F.K

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Audrey Hepburn A Fashion Icon and Actress Had insecurities about her body image!
Can you believe Ms. Holly Go Lightly herself had doubts about her amazing figure.

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Gotta Love Adeles Attitude on insecurity. She is no size two, but she has a voice that will bring you to tears and move you so deeply, that you wont care if she sings naked!

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Knightly has a few insecurities herself and she made out with Orlando Bloom! Beat that!!

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Madonna Is known to have insecurities regarding her body Image and she wore cones as a bra!

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Winslet has insecurities about her body image and I can't even think of how uber fantastic she is.
She has has her fair share of leading roles in major motion pictures.

Everyone has insecurities, it is human. Learning to over come them is the key.

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

Insecurities, Confidence and Self Esteem.

It's about knowing who you are and what your worth, even if you don't know it right now, one day you will.
So stay strong little beauty and know you are very special, indeed.

E.L.F Cosmetics Lipsticks Review

On a recent trip to the Dollar General I went browsing through the cosmetics aisle for a nail file and found these E.L.F Lipsticks and I picked them up, of course they were a dollar apiece, but come on, look at those colors :)

Elf lipsticks Voodoo (Left) Fearless (Right).

Elf Lipstick in the color Voodoo Looks like a deep Mauve color, But actually swatches more salmon color.

Elf Lipstick in the Color Fearless looks like a Vibrant rich red, but actually swatches a deep fuschia.

Final verdict:
For a dollar these are really great lipsticks and they have good staying power, Almost stain like.
The packaging is on the cheap side very similar to the W&W lipsticks that don't snap shut.
They are currently out of stock on the elf website, but they are at Dollar General.
