Urban Decays Shining Star

Hello, My Beauties!

First of all I want to say, I can't believe that I got a response so quickly from the Lovely Michelle Andrea over at Discoairglow.com. How cool of a blog name is that haha! Anyhoo She Asked:

Question:What are/is your favorite versatile
neutral eyeshadow pallette(s) and why?

After reading this question and saying it a loud, only one thing came to mind.
The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.I mean look at it, it screams sexy, don't you think?

You can create a bagillion looks with it and never have the same look twice, you can use these shadows at liners and lip colors. Now I know everyone is on their Naked 3 Rampage, But I personally feel you can go a lot further with this palette and still be in the neutral zone.

In the words of Austin powers fasha "I love Gold!". haha :)

So, I am asking the Question to anyone who wants to join in on the "World's Largest Beauty Collab!"

Question: What's the deepest Red lip color you own and why?

Sunday

Urban Decay SmashBox MC2 Palette Matte Comparison

Hello, beautiful!

Today was a lazy Sunday, I didn't sleep until 7am and I was just in a blah mood, so into the shower I went.
The shower felt great and got me in a good mood, thinking about what to film and which product I wanted to blog about today.

I dried and flat ironed my hair, then it was makeup time and let me tell you, no matter how I tired I couldn't get a look going. I used the Naked Basics Palette and the Smashbox Master Class Palette, now if you can't get a look out of those two palettes combined, then something is wrong! So I literally tried three times, meaning taking it off and trying again! So I finally gave up and said not tonight.

Heart broken I began to pack my toys away and was trying to figure out why my shadows wouldn't blend or stay put on my eyes, I noticed that the Naked Basics Palette and the SmashBox MC2 Palette have the same colors and I wanted to compare the two palettes against each other.

As you can see they are very much alike besides the second color from the left.
With a touch test they both feel nice, but Naked Basics feels velvety but dryer.

They are all matte shades and as you can see The Naked basics is way more pigmented.
The MC2 Palette Blends a lot easier.

The MC2 Palette has 28 shadows, 6 blush bronzers and 2 highlighters, as well as four gel liners.

Naked basics has 6 shadows total, one of which is a shimmer used for a brow highlight.

I love both of these Palettes, but for some reason NB is very hard for me to work with in regards to blending. I find myself reaching for the SBMC2 Palette more.

Saturday

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Small, Sleek and Sexy are three words I can use to describe this palette from Urban Decay.
Featuring all matte shades it is perfect for everyday on the go use as well as an evening out.

With five colors in the neutral color range this palette can go from soft to dramatic in just a few swipes without a problem.

These pictures do not do this palette justice. They blend easily and feel like velvet.

Applied with a finger and no primer.

These colors are meant to enhance the eyes in a natural manner.
Making application effortless, leaving you with a flawless eye every time.

This Palette retails for $27.00

The Pros

All Matte Shades
Easy to work with.
Universal color scheme.
Pigmentation is high.

The Cons

I would like UD to make more all matte palettes.

Over all I am very happy with this palette and will continue to use it daily.

I purchased this product with my own money.
All thoughts and views are my own.

Urban Decay Naked Flushed

UrbanDecay Naked Flushed themakeupsquid.com

I Recently acquired the Urban Decay Naked Flush Bronzer/Highlihter/Blush trio during a trip to Ulta Beauty.
I have seen the trio talked about on the interwebs so I had to try it for myself.

First of all I love the packaging! it's so small and cute and it perfect for travel.

I  like that the dominant product is the bronzer in this palette, so as the seasons change so can your blush.

The Bronzer

This bronzer has little to know shimmer and has a build-able quality leaving your bronzing options open.
Great for just defining your face or warming it up, this is a bronzer I will reach for often.

The Highlighter

This highlighter goes on smooth leaving behind a nice glow to the skin, enhancing and brightening.
I like how it doesn't over power but draws light to the face.

The Blush

This blush adds a perfect wash of color to the skin bringing forth you, rather than the product itself.

Swatches were applied heavily with finger application for photographic purposes.

As you can see through all three of these products my natural skin tone is still coming through. I like that they don't drown me out and allow me to come through.

The Pros

Small packaging
Good amount of product
Not much shimmer in the bronzer
Buildable color
Not overpowering
Blush is universal

The Cons

None

So to wrap it up I am very happy with this trio and I know I will be using this product often.
I am already in love with it!

This product retails for $30
